1. Projects are paid for by the responsible party.

2. Projects are paid for by money which has been
deposited by the responsible party into sub-accounts of the
Coastal Protection Account (CPA).

The four sub-accounts are as follows:
- South Puget Sound/Hood Canal
- North Puget Sound/Strait of Juan de Fuca
- Columbia River/Outer Coast
- Special Projects

3. Projects are also funded from an account in which
spill penalties are deposited. The money from this
account is used to supplement the sub-accounts listed above.

Funding was
provided by Coastal Protection Fund for the acquisition of
450 acres of tidelands in south Fidalgo Bay (Skagit County,
adjacent to Padilla Bay).
